Vilma Bijeikienė is an Associated Professor of English at the Institute of Foreign Languages and the Head of the Department of Foreign Language, Literary and Translation Studies at the Faculty of Humanities of Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas, Lithuania, where she deals with the organization of the study programmes in the main global languages: English, German, French, Italian and Spanish. In 2020-2025, she served as VMU Vice-Rector for Communication in charge of the University’s internal and external communication, internationalisation policy and its implementation as well as the University’s overall cultural and linguistic diversity.  She holds responsibilities of an Executive Editor of the international Scopus-indexed biannual journal Sustainable Multilingualism that aims at publishing studies on the development of plurilingual competencies, language policy, linguistic rights, societal multilingualism, and other relevant issues. Her main research areas include applied linguistics, sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, English for Specific and Academic Purposes (ESP, EAP), English Medium Instruction (EMI), Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) and Linguistically Sensitive Teaching (LST).
